Pueblo Unido Gallery is pleased to present Lifestyle, a solo exhibition by Chicago based Hondureña photographer Carmen Ordoñez.
For this exhibition, Carmen Ordoñez presents photographs capturing moments within lowrider communities in Chicago and Southern California. Portraits, cruise nights, car interiors, interviews and shared moments form part of a living archive that spans generations, cities and personal histories. In conjunction with the opening reception, a lowrider show will take place across the street in the parking lot of Raven Theatre.
Carmen Ordoñez is a Honduran photographer based in Chicago. Her work explores themes of community, feminism, and culture. She engages deeply with various Latino communities, using her photography to challenge assumptions and rethink the visual narrative surrounding overlooked groups in the United States. Ordoñez is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Photography. Her work was also featured in the book Slow and Low, published in 2023.
